Elevator Traction Belt vs Traditional Rope
Gold‑ebelt represents a new generation of elevator traction technology, engineered with high‑performance polyurethane (TPU) encapsulating multiple wire cords (G‑Cord). Compared with traditional steel ropes, the TPU coating delivers significantly higher traction efficiency through direct contact with the traction sheave, while maximising the belt’s breaking strength without the limitations imposed by sheave wear.
In addition, the innovative structural design of Gold‑ebelt greatly enhances the overall service life of the traction belt, offering a more durable, reliable, and maintenance‑friendly solution for modern elevator systems.

Whole‑Process Capability
Goldsun is the first manufacturer to achieve a fully integrated production process for traction belts, supported by key equipment sourced from Europe and the United States. Every stage, from raw‑material heat treatment, through wire drawing, twisting, and rope closing, to the final TPU coating is completed entirely in‑house. This end‑to‑end capability ensures consistent quality, full process control, and superior product reliability.
Reliability Verification Capability
Goldsun conducts comprehensive reliability testing under a wide range of application conditions, including hydrolysis, extreme temperatures, and UV ageing, to ensure long‑term performance and safety. Additional evaluations such as traction force, abrasion resistance, surface roughness, breaking strength, and elongation are performed under standard operating conditions to verify consistent quality and durability.
Plastic Coated Ropes
Plastic‑coated steel wire ropes deliver exceptionally high traction performance, enabling a significant reduction in elevator car weight and contributing to more efficient system design. Their polyurethane‑coated construction also ensures remarkably low noise levels during operation, enhancing ride comfort and creating a smoother, quieter passenger experience.
With a low D/d ratio, these ropes allow for the use of smaller traction sheaves and more compact traction machines, making them particularly well‑suited for modern machine‑room‑less (MRL) elevators and installations with limited machine‑room space.
